5 Reasons:
1. You cannot teach your children to love themselves when they don't see you leading by example.
2. Conforming to the standard only perpetuates that it's okay.
3. We cannot expect those who have less exposure to black hair to appreciate it if we don't appreciate it ourselves.
4. We can save money! This is a recession! I buy nothing more than shampoo, conditioner, some hair lotion and shea butter. Put that money towards buying books.
5. Someone needs to change the beauty standard. It might as well be you!
